The O'conners are very skilled horseman and quite good at teaching as well. Although I don't value them like Buck Brannaman, Tom and Bill Dorrace or Ray Hunt, because I like working with horses more than horse ridding, the O'Conners are very professional and a lot can be learned from their perspective on the sport.
Thank you for taking the time to educate yourself; I've been around a lot of horse people who think they know it all because they've been working with horses for years and years but don't even have a single book or video; the result- horses that could have had an easier life but are never given the chance because of someone who thinks they know it all formed them. Thank you again. The time has come in history for humans to pay for all the cruelty of the past; for us to seek every means possible to provide horses with the best life possible.

David John O'Connor (b. 18 January 1962 in Gaithersburg, Maryland) is a retired equestrian rider. He won many international competitions as well as the gold medal for the US in the 2000 Olympic Games. He is only the second American to have won the Badminton Horse Trials. O'Connor sits as the President of the US Equestrian Federation. His wife, Karen O'Connor, was a member of the 2008 US Olympic Equestrian team. He is now the coach of the Canadian eventing team, which won silver at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
